This is strange. I have been on abilify at 10mg for a few months. At least over 5 I think. I have had few side effects except when I stand up fast I get dizzy and lightheaded for a bit.
Besides that, I have had no weight change(actually lost a little weight), the nausea has gone away and the voices and delusions are tamed enough to control.
I was expecting worse side effects but am pleased at this point. Is it possible to get more later on?

Lucky duck. When I went on 10 mg was when I started getting a ton of absolutely nasty side effects. I’d had bad side effects on lower doses too but 10 mg is definitely where it got intolerable. I was on Abilify for several months but experienced the bad side effects pretty much immediately after raising doses. (And my therapist wanted me to go up to 15…no way!)
If it works for you though stick with it!! Risperdal has been great for me. Only one disconcerting side effect but it’s tolerable.
I am lucky in this sense. I think it is working for most sz symptoms and such. How are you Anna?
I am very well thanks! Having a happy lazy week taking care of a friend’s cat and doing it whatever.
I’ve been on 15mg of Abilify for about a year now without any major side effects and having most of my positive symptoms covered.
Weight gain happens when you eat more why because Abilify delays the signal in the Brain that says I had enough food.
Not sure, I would think many side-effects would have manifested themselves in those 5 months or more. As with any AP, I think you do still want to look out for shakes or restless legs and that kind of stuff.
I hope so! I will keep a look out.
I’m on Abilify 25 mg since 2,5 years. I have no side effects. Had a bit of head ache in the beginning.
This fills me with hope!
