I have two songs recorded at the moment if you want to check them out. It take sooo long to do but it’s way worth it haha
Prettty sweet…sounds good. What type of recording equipment did you get?
“I still wake up on the floor”
Best. Part.
Thank you for sharing and I love your song!
I got a condenser mic, this two channel recorder that came with a bunch of its own software, cords, stands, an instrument mic too I think but I haven’t played with that much yet. The software is really cool, it came with plugins for reverb, gate, compressor, eq, and a bunch of other stuff that really came in handy
Recording on bass is tough without some solid eq haha
I think I’m gonna get a mic soon…I submitted some music to a record company and they said “the problem is! You have bad production and no catchy hooks! But everything else is good”…well I’m actually a pro at catchy hooks…I just didn’t include any of them…they r easy. And production…I thought the whole point of a demo tape is it has bad production…I guess they wanna hear a song ready for release as a true measure of how good you are.
Can you link me to exactly what you got if you’d reccommend it…if you don’t mind? I think I might get the same cuz it sounds really good… As long as it’s not too expensive
I like ur lyrics too btw
I listened to ghost and thought it was even better
I know you’ll like this one
I wrote this when I first thought I was the messiah (long time ago)
https://soundcloud.com/jonjames1/im-the-messiah-gettin-higha
But it’d be way better if I actually owned a microphone …or put in a catchy hook Lol…to please the masses…
I think I’m getting the blue yeti
I need a usb mic not condenser
That one you got seems better for rock…mine for rap.
When I go to school in the fall I will have free access to a studio which im excited about. But I wanna record a few songs with a mic
I’ve used mics before but they weren’t great and broke.
Condenser mics are the ones you use in a studio, it would be awesome for rap. See I actually have the problem of being way too loud and having to turn the gain way down
Yeah I’ll get a condenser mic eventually.
I’m going to evergreen state…same school Macklemore went to. I have this plan…senior year I’ll take music…and make an album…in a studio.
I also make my voice too loud or so I’m told.
I need weed to write good lyrics or else it always ends up saying the same ■■■■
This is my favorite cuz it’s a poem. I wrote the thing in like 5 mins while I was high. Sound quality is bad tho.
You’ve got a great voice MisterWaffles!
Yeah I think he should seriously pursue music
Having a good voice is not something ppl r always born with
Took me years of practice to make my voice respectable.
Well me too, i’ve been singing since I was twelve and I took voice classes through high school haha
I’m always amazed at the talent that’s on this site. @turningthepage, @MisterWaffles, @HuckFinn being some examples.
Would you think a rapper would benefit from voice lessons?
I’ve never heard of a rapper taking voice lessons but I thought of the idea like 3 weeks ago.
I’ve been writing lyrics for 7 years and recording for less than 3
When I thought I was the chosen one I thought I was destined to be a rapper to share my message with the world…then when I started recording…couldn’t believe how bad it was. I’ve improved a lot cuz I believe(d) in my “destiny”…I’ve always been quiet so my vocal chords have never been stretched out too much til lately when I became less quiet and started rapping/singing more.
Still a long way to go but I believe in improvement …believe in myself
I sometimes wish I started making music when I was 10 years old not 22…because the younger you start the better…but if I had direction in life at a young age I wouldn’t have struggled as much. I’m grateful for my struggles…learned a lot from them…it may take a little longer to get to where I wanna be, but when I get there it’ll have more essence than I could have ever had if I had not struggled so much… That’s .just my case tho.
Your music is very original btw…you got alternative rock pop and r&b all in one. It’s dope.
