Obsession/appeal of guns

You can buy them at gun shows I think to get around the laws. My buddy bought a gun off a guy on Craigslist. They met in an alley like a shady movie…

I don’t really get the obsession with them either.

I was in the US Armed Forces and trained in the M-16, but I don’t like guns or violence now.

I’ve noticed a lot of people who’ve actually been in the military could care less about guns or weapons, but people who have never been in the military and/or are typically right wing extremists just love the damn things.

I had an AK-47. It was fun to go shooting with friends but I gave it to my parents. Can’t really shoot it with tremors. Also it jammed all the time because it’s Red Army Standard.

Home defense is the only reason I’d want a gun. There’s not much utility in them beyond that(minus hunting). I’m not legally allowed to own one anyways. I’d be happier if my country wasn’t so gun crazy.

In my state many people own hunting rifles. Some folks here supplement their food with deer meat.

My dad owns several hunting guns. He also owns a .22 I think it’s called. But it’s small like those the cops use on tv. Has a magazine.

I used to be a gun owner before schizophrenia hit, then I voluntarily gave them up.

I am from Kentucky though which is a common thing to be a gun owner here, almost everyone owns a firearm.

Obviously guns themselves aren’t dangerous, but people with guns can be. If you know proper safety precautions and are a law abiding citizen I don’t see why it’s so bad to own one for self defense or hunting purposes in my opinion
