Now I have to declare to benefits people if I go abroad

This new benefit I’m on UC I have to declare if I travel abroad on the online journal, so I’m probably not going to travel outside the UK in future. I’m going to buy a car (my support staff will drive) and take 3/4 day mini breaks with staff and group home housemate around the country, England, Scotland, Wales, Britain is a beautiful and brilliant country to travel within but its expensive.

That’s too bad you won’t be able to travel out of the country. It’s weird how life can change in an instant.

Ah ha you are quite right @bobbilly you do. I just looked on Q&As. Its to do with being able to meet your specific commitments. If you was going away for a week or two it wouldn’t be an issue. I myself have no commitments because the wife works. We are ones who get left alone. UC for us is more of a small supplement towards rent and Tax Credit stuff for the kids.

You like going away for more than a month no?

I always go away for less than 28 days. When I go to Sri Lanka it’s 24 days each time to meet the ESA requirements and I’ve never had a problem before. I’m in the support group so don’t have work commitments.

I’d love to travel around the UK. I haven’t been overseas in almost 20 years.

Wow I’m surprised it’s part of their jd to do that ? But staycations are a good choice.
