Will cancel my sleep study once again I am a lot better with my breathing and can wear my CPAP now without feeling like I’m smothering or gasping for air the only reason I was going to go to this sleep study was because I thought my machine wasn’t helping me and I needed it adjusted but now that I am better for the most part I can wear it and it may not need adjusted like I thought in the beginning I think the reason I was gasping for air with my CPAP mask on is because I was sick at the time when I am sick I can’t wear my mask no matter how hard I try to I just cant. Last night I wore my CPAP mask for 9 and a half hours I think that’s a big accomplishment since I haven’t been able to wear it or wear it that long a time for two months now so I will keep my machine the air pressure where it is and in the future if I do need it adjusted I will go in for a sleep study then now I think I am good at the moment with the machine I have and the air pressure I have
You were going in for a sleep study appointment on a Saturday? Isn’t that a bit unusual to be seen on a weekend? Just sayin’.
It’s good that you went 9 1/2 hours with the mask on. When you call to cancel I would ask them for a tentative appointment for a month away to see if things are really going alright wearing the mask. It seems it would be hard to tell from just one night whether things are going to go good with wearing it.
If it’s hard to get an appointment I would ask them to give you an appointment for a month away so you have 30 days to really test if wearing it is going to work out for you. Ask them if you can make a tentative appointment that you can call several days ahead of time to cancel if you need to, that way if things keep going right every night with your mask then you won’t need to be seen. But if things aren’t working out in a month then you’ll already have an appointment in place. They might not do it.
So glad your breathing is better and you got some good sleep with the CPAP last night.
Thanks @Vinegar
They are open on the weekend, I thought it odd for them to be open then, but they are. I will call and see if I can get in for a sleep study in a month or so. I think I will be good to cancel this appointment once I make the other one. I am just glad to be better with my Breathing and I also was able to lie down in bed instead of sleeping propped up on three pillows practically sitting upright for two months.
I canceled my appointment for my sleep study for Dec 7th and I didn’t make another appointment I didn’t think I had to now that I am all better from my Breathing issues I am able to lie down on two pillows like before I was sick, and I am no longer sitting upright in the bed at night to sleep and last night I wore my CPAP mask even longer than the night before 10 and a half hours before taking my mask off. I am beyond thrilled to be better not being able to breathe was brutal and pure Hell. I will just go to my sleep follow up appointment later in March like I always do so they can see how Much I have used my Mask and how I’m doing on my CPAP machine.
