I’ve been feeling overwhelmed lately cos I’m my grandmother’s nok …(next of kin) so the docs will tell me of any updates. But my aunt has come to stay so she’s caring for my grandma. I can’t do that kinda stuff so it’s a huge help. My grandma has a tumor which they are investigating if it’s c.
I’m sorry @Ish
Dealing with a sick loved one is very stressful
Take care of yourself
Spend as much time with her as possible
Why are u the next of kin instead of your mom
My mum doesn’t find it easy to communicate in English. I just communicate what’s happening.
Thanks @Wave im trying but it does get overwhelming sometimes, there’s so many appointments to attend with her. my mum and aunt are the carers which helps a lot.
Oh I understand now. Yes that’s still tiring. Tho.
My bloody neighbour has put me down as next of kin. It is stressful.
@Qwerty I have no idea how this works, but isn’t there an option to refuse?
I understand the potential financial benefits, I’m simply curious whether one can opt out.
It’s only on the hospital records that I’m his next of kin not in the will.
Oh, so what’s in it for you then?
Nothing. Not that I care. I do not want anything from him. Infact currently im annoyed with him and could do without the stress. Haha
Sorry to hear @Ish
I’m sure it’s stressful having to deal with that stuff. Enjoy as much time as you can with your grandma
It’s really, really hard to watch a loved one go through health issues.
It takes a strong person to help out the way you are @Ish, your family is lucky to have you
