Looks like my nan is close to her death

87 is a good age.

She has had health issues pretty much since the 70’s

Right now she’s got multiple infections (Don’t know what though), and has stopped eating and taking in fluids.

The hospitals round here have turfed her out of hospital multiple times in the last few weeks. But this time she was away in another county, and they checked everything - not looking good though

My mother is upset.

Hate the fact health suffers and we die.

Fact is I guess to make the most of what you have

It’s sad because she has refused visitors for weeks now, as she has been depressed and bed bound some of the time

My parents are due round for dinner tonight at my flat, so I might treat them to a nice take away to try and cheer them up, but not sure it will lift the mood too much

It’s not something that I wasn’t expecting.

When my granddad died it was actually a relief. He was not in a good way.

But my nan has been living on borrowed time for a while now. The family has fallen apart over those who help most and those perceived not to be doing their share. I made the mistake of trying to get involved…

Personally she should have been in assisted living as a minimum probably a few years back and she might have done better

Don’t know if I am just ‘cold’ but I didn’t feel emotion when I was told this info. Maybe it needs time to sink in or something

Thanks. I hope they can make things swiftly draw to a close with minimal pain and suffering.

She amazingly has held onto her faculties to this day, just everything else is falling apart.

Not sure I will be able to see her.

Too many covid restrictions on visitors

Sorry to hear that, i whish recovery
