Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease

Hey all, have any of you been diagnosed with a fatty liver? I got the diagnosis in December and am trying to find the best way forward to treat it. My diet was high in sugar so for the last month I’ve cut out table sugar and flour and started eating more whole grains. Will see in a week if it’s helping.

Yeah a good diet should help. I know when my dad had a liver problem back when he was drinking his doctor recommended Milk Thistle. It’s a supplement that is supposed to be good for the liver and I’ve seen it in stores as well as other things like Liver Detox which usually contains it.

I’m not sure if it’s valid for fatty liver so do your research/talk to your doctor about it. My dad was a big drinker but he only just tried it for a little while so not sure if it’s valid!

I have a fatty liver. The ultra sound shows it but all my blood values are good despite my past alcohol abuse.

It scares me to have a fatty liver as I know it could progress to worse conditions

Avoid sugary foods and drinks and avoid processed carbs.

My liver numbers are normal though

Losing weight is basically how you treat a fatty liver

Good luck!

I would imagine that some inflammatory markers might be higher than usual with a fatty liver. Does anyone know?
