No difference between normies and us

When people talk about normies I’m wondering what are they talking about. Even people who are not mentally ill still have problems. They can have problems with their health or problems with their personality. Unfortunately those diagnosed with sz must fight an inner battle and are never fully understood.

They can have problems with their health or with their personality but we have problems with the core of our existence and identity.

Once in a video a nurse said that when someone gets sz, it changes him so much that he doesn’t become a normal person with an illness but a schizophrenic person as if the illness reached the core of their being.

I’m probably normal by most standards. Wife, kid, home, job, and active in my community. Most of my day-to-day issues stem from autism rather than SZ, to be honest.

Embrace it. Own the label. Wait that’s a bad thing isn’t it?

I figure, just go for it. Be awesome. Let the chips fall where they may.

The difference is that we cannot interact the same as normies do with other normies.

Some of us are tormented, or go through phases of being tormented. Recovery is possible, but that’s still not a thing to be taken lightly.

There is no difference between us and normies. People with schizophrenia are normal people. If you start believing that you’re different, you’ll feel like an alien and maybe won’t do new friends. We have schizophrenia, but it doesn’t make us an alien.

Maybe your values will change after the disease, but it doesn’t change who you are. You’ll still be in love with the same things (or maybe discover new things), you’ll love people the same way and you’ll have the same feelings. You have all of it. So don’t give up. Have faith and do your best by being who you are.

Some people don’t have a diagnosis but they are still mentally or psychologically sick. Many people make others around them suffer and they are considered as normal. What is bad with mental illness is the diagnosis, the label you get on your head.

The label? What about the symptoms?
