News isn't news anymore

I watch/read a variety of news outlets and I’ve come to one conclusion. News isn’t news anymore. If you watch one news channel you get a completely different picture of what’s going on if you change it to another. News is completely political these days and there is no such thing as a unbiased news source anymore. They all skew their reporting to reflect their worldview. Anyone relying on just one news station to get their views is being brainwashed by that news station. That’s why I watch several. It’s all really quite disgusting though that there can’t be an unbiased news station to watch. Anyway, just wanted to vent a little bit as I’m a little frustrated.

What a time to be alive, huh?

I hear good things about NPR if it makes you feel any better.

You can probably find their news online, or in the morning on your local public radio station.

All I watch is CNN.
I find them to be pretty fair and balanced.
They have guests of both parties on all the time.

I recently added Smart News to my phone.

I mainly get local news from them.

I’ll sometimes watch MSNBC

I’ll sometimes tune in to FOX news from time to time to get their viewpoint.

You are right @Bowens these news outlets have become way too political.

I’m searching for non biased news sources but this is almost impossible.

I’ll check out NPR thanks @Montezuma

I’ve been saying this for years and years. Most news stations are liberal in viewpoint except for Fox. And that’s exactly why Fox was created. To provide for an alternative conservative viewpoint.

I get sick of the short cuts in journalism over here these days. I find that most things covered in the paper are straight copies of things off the internet. I read a bit of internet news on a major site…not that I trust it’s implicit bias but it’s just so bad…

Don’t want to get political but the lack of quality questioning in journalism is keeping the world back these days. I don’t miss keeping up with the politics because most mainstream news is just so skewed to one side. It forces me to be less involved which isn’t a good thing in a democracy.

Theres an uprising with the BBC here in the uk. Especially for their anti-brexit stance, and the money they waste from the license fee. They are over 160 million short - cos people have refused to pay it. Im one of them.

I only watch Sky news now.

Yeah my head would be buried in the sand all the way if I didn’t catch dribs and drabs from my folks watching the television.

It was the astrophysicist Neil DeGrasse Tyson who said on the pundit Bill Maher’s show about 8 or 10 years ago ‘

Can’t we get an engineer in Congress?

(As opposed to the status quo of all lawyers)

I butchered that but it was hard hitting when it came out of him during back and forth dialog.
