Hi everyone. After 4 years of living with meth induced psychosis, God woke me up and I now know it isn’t real. I’ve been prescribed Abilify 10 mg for every name and all the goodies symptoms of this psychosis. Is it enough and when can I see relief? So far, still dealing with the voices and physical and mental hallucinations. I want relief so freakin bad!

It can take a while. You need it to build up in your system. If it doesn’t help you may need a higher dose or a different med

When I was first put on abilify 10mg, it took about 2 months for it to work. But I was in pretty bad shape and in hospital.
It takes 2 weeks for abilify to reach a steady state in your body.
So to answer your question, 2 weeks minimum and if it’s not making a difference after 2 months, you should have a conversation with your doctor about it.

Since your new to meds you need to realize everyone is different. Different meds work differently on different people.
Abilify didn’t work on me but it does work on others. I am currently on Lurasidone and that works for me, but other people on this forum have had a bad experience with it.
You may have to try several meds before you find one that works well with tolerable/minimal/no side effects, and you may have to try different dosages. Patience is key.
Typically antipsychotics (like Abilify) and antidepressants take a few weeks to really kick in and become effective.

It took a few months for me to start to feel better. Probably spent 6 months in bed sleeping. But my body has now adjusted to the meds and I have some energy. I just lack motivation.
When I was on Abilify it took about 2 weeks to start working

Welcome to the forum. As others have stated it may take awhile for you to get relief. It could take 2 weeks or so for you to see relief. I have even read that it can take up to 4 weeks for you to see the full effect of the medication.
At least you have insight, whitis the most important thing.
It took 5 weeks for me to see a noticeable effect
with each med thats worked for me i was stable within a month
Oh I’m sorry that you got a meth induced psychosis I know what addiction is because I was addicted to alcohol 20 years ago, you’ll see some good results in between 2 - 6 week. And please contact Narcotics anonymous if you haven’t done that already.

welcome. not sure about all you have to recover from with this.
I never did drugs, but forced speech was gone within 2 days on an AP.
and during psychosis, getting back on the meds, less than 2.
don’t quit them.
and also, don’t smoke pot.
