I have a new psychiatrist I hope she listens to me and doesn’t override everything i say etc my last psychiatrist said I couldn’t be lactating because of the med I was on and that no one else she treated has lactated on it even tho online it says it’s possible side effect and she tried convincing me I had a medical problem instead
I just got a new psych as well. My last one wouldn’t prescribe me benzos, my new one is still iffy on them but lets me take them as PRN (Klonopin). 2 MG daily right now.
I lactated on my Ap when I was on a higher dose.
My pdoc had never heard of sarcosine, but when I explained to him the potential benefits, he looked into it and then gave me green light to try it.
I like doctors who don’t assume they know everything.
Wow that’s a good pdoc! I hope my new one has same qualities
Haliperadol? 1515
No I’m on Abilify but I wanna switch I still get manic on it
That’s amazing for a psychiatrist. I find them for the most part very dismissive of input
Good luck with your new psychiatrist @Sis_Spamzalot!
glad you have a new pdoc…hope you get the help you need and deserve.
I don’t have a pdoc since Jan 2021, they said I am too stable. I think I will request one to change my meds.
Aww Thank you
Are they allowed to do that ?! If you feel you need meds why not let you your the one dealing with the illness not them
I am in Canada, idk about the US. I am still on meds. I think its common here to release patients to their family Dr because of a lack of psychiatrists maybe.
I’ve had meds make me lactate and I’m a dude. I am not at all surprised they would make women lactate. I hope you get taken more seriously about this in the future. VERY unpleasant side-effect.
I also got a new pdoc but I don’t know how good he is because I told him I was suicidal the day before and he just increased my meds. And I had homicidal thoughts and he asked if I really want to kill so I said no (obviously!) I thought he’d make me go to hospital but he just increased my meds. I was relieved but also very surprised. I had a panic attack and he calmed me down nicely though.
Hope your new pdoc turns out to be nice and a good one for you!
I lactated on risperidone but it didn’t bother me too much. Now I’m on amisulpride and haloperidol and I don’t lactate on them.
