No One Cares About Crazy People: The Chaos and Heartbreak of Mental Health in America Mar 21, 2017
by Ron Powers.
I just saw this book and I think it is about politics and schizophrenia. I may read it someday.
I donât get it.
Everyone loves crazy people. Watch TV and see people dressed in a crazy manner, or do crazy things. They are example of the ones who draw attention. Crazy people love crazy people. The sane people, are considered to be way too boring.
However, the crazies donât want to admit that they are crazy, and so they need a special group of people that are to be classified as âCrazyâ, and thus the TRULY crazy exclude themselves from such a list.
After all, did people ever related the word CRAZY to Adolph Hitler. Or, was the focus always pointed elsewhere.
I tend not to think too much about things like that, i try and forget about mental illness and all of that, i know its hard but it just brings me down, I focus more on recovery nowâŚ
Like âwhat can i do today to make me feel goodâ or something to take my mind off of things, distraction is good, i dont like to dwell on remnants of this illness (no offense)
If it was a book about how someone recovered then that sounds good, i have ordered a book called âthe stranger on the bridgeâ cant wait to get it
Itâs a good book. Itâs very well written. It is a sobering read though as it highlights the shortcomings of mental health care in the US
They love some kind of crazy, crazy fun. Not the crazy I heard voices and have delusions type
Thanks for that overview of what the book is like. It may motivate me to get involved with some sort of political movement.
I bought this book when it first came out.
Itâs a great read, but not exactly âlightâ subject matter. It can be a little unsettling at times.
Overall itâs extremely well written, and well researched.
I tend to think of Powers as a champion for the rights of the mentally ill.

It takes a lot of motivation to read an entire book like that. Very good!
I may read it in the future.
