Got to see a neuropsychiatrist when i was at the psychward, he said my case caught his interest.
So i learned that drugs that increase norepinephrine dont do well with me thats why welbutrin or something like atomoxetine will overstimulate me and cause sensory overload and stuff.
So he added clonidine to my meds which reduces norepinephrine. Its pretty calming, reduced my impulsiveness and stuff.
Anyway it was interesting to finally know why welbutrin wouldnt work despite trying it for a year lol
I saw a neuropsych back when I was 13-15. I was initially diagnosed with generalized anxiety and OCD. Though thats also when my hallucinations started ramping up big time. The tests i took werent testing schizophrenia symptoms though haha. When I did finally get tested for schizophrenia when i was 19, it was shockingly bad. My psychiatrist was pretty excited because my tests showed high psychosis and low lying. I just remember it taking over an hour to fill out the tests.
Nice yeah its nice to get some closure. This guy was specialized in adhd so that was for that component of my issues. There was a diff guy for the mania/psychosis.
I initially was seeing the neuropsych for fibromyalgia like symptoms, like nerve pain in my hands and arms. I was dosed on neurontin/gabapentin for many years, at an INSANE dose. like 2100 mg or something, i cant remember. The bottle the pills came in was comically large lol. I literally felt like I was underwater all day. and i strongly believe thats part of the reason my cognition and memory has decreased so much in the past two decades.
