I’m just setting up to practice guitar. A little late today. I did a lot of sleeping today because I did not sleep well last night. Having a bit of a motivational problem today. Don’t really feel like it. So, I thought that I would play a few songs, then check responses to this thread, play a few songs again, check again, rinse and repeat. Just to break it up a little bit.
I have only missed one day of practice since july 18th( I think). The day I got my first guitar, so I am very keen to not break my streak.
Thanks for reading. Feel free to comment if you have anything to say. Will be checking in between every few songs/practice exercises.
Thanks @Turtle44 . Just about to wrap up. Got about 40 minutes in. Not a whole lot of practice for the day, but enough to at least say that I got some in .
I know, but I feel like I must at least do some “maintenance” practice, even when I dont feel like it. Just to keep my notation reading skills sharp and not forget any songs. Us old guys need a little “maintenance” to keep things fresh sometimes.
It is both a duty and often a pleasure for me.
Edit: Plus I have a record of only one missed day to keep
thanks for reminding me to try to play “landslide” again…I did it…but it wasn’t easy…I hope I can still play guitar like I used to in a couple months…good for you for practicing…you sound really good.
Taking lessons is another thing that motivates me to practice guitar. You want to show that you’ve made improvement on whatever assignments that you are given by the instructor. Don’t want to go in there and when they ask you to play, be all like, “Umm…well…eh…”. Heh.
Hey @Bowens man I admire your tenacity! I try to practice often, but every single day shows a focus of purpose I wish I could attain. Also your wall of guitars is formidable! I am envying your Starcaster, very likely the next guitar I get. Anyway man I’m glad to see you around the forum more often, I’ve always enjoyed your expositions and insights. Keep rockin’ it my fine friend.
I picked up my guitar last week for the fourth time in 6 years my strings are all rust i need to restring it but suprisingly the guitar was mostly in tune still i dont want to practice again but i was thinking of maybe writing songs again im good enough that i should be able to write some cool tunes if i felt like it
Good on you Bowens for stickin at it, you must be pretty good on it by now, i gave up on it pretty quick, my mic was what killed it for me, i couldnt record it properly
I really want to try and get better at keyboard, my neighbour asked her friend if he could give me lessons but he said he couldnt so idk how i’m going to learn,
I was also looking at a dj controller and i am getting to learn and practice on one at my radio station which is cool,
Was also working on a beat last night as well, it sounds ok but i need some vocals for it (i need to try and sort my mic out)
@Rainstorm I would also like to write some good lyrics, its fun isnt it
