I really can’t say. When I was a kid the needle hurt. Now when my current dentist numbs me up, first he has like a little Q-Tip that has some kind of red chemical on the end that he rubs on my gums where the needle is going in. The red stuff numbs the area so I barely even feel when the needle goes in. Maybe ask your dentist if he has something like this.

My dentist uses a numbing agent before the shot, too. I’d say try laughing gas if you’re nervous, but if you’re suffering from dissociation, this might not be the best option. Either way, I really wish you luck.

I had a numbing injection a few years ago at the dentist. I also had a numbing injection just recently to get a mole removed. It never caused anything like that. Isnt this just delusional thinking?

Never herd those symptoms derealization dissociation is it part of schizophrenia. If so could it be like hallucinations or delusions or maybe both put together.

Just let your dentist know this so s/he can monitor you closely. Anytime you have an adverse reaction to something like that, your treating doctor should know.

I asked my dr for lorazepam max dose and it did wonders. 19 teeth extracted and no anxiety.

Most medical professionals I go to give me a questionnaire to fill out before I am seen for the first time. The form wants to know my name, address, phone number, and many of them have a list of diseases or conditions and they want me to go down the list and check off each one I’ve ever suffered from. But on most of these forms they ask if I am allergic to anything and what I am allergic too.

The only thing I’ve ever been allergic to is latex so at work they supply me with vinyl gloves instead of latex gloves.

But anyways, didn’t your dentist give you a form to fill out? Didn’t it ask if your allergic to anything? I think any doctor treating you needs to know what you are allergic to before he treats you or prescribes medication. Not informing a dentist or doctor about allergies can be dangerous.
