Me too.
I went to a homeopathic doctor and he told me to quit my meds and take some drops of homeopathic medicine.
Edit: He was an MD as well.

I have a family member constantly suggesting me about idk what therapy and homeopathy for psychosis.
Yeah. If we could handle things without meds we would not be on them anymore!
Yeah, lol. But, the OP means we donāt know what works and what doesnāt as we have not tried everything in the world.
Every time someone tells me the benefits of Chinese herbal medicine, I remind myself why tiger penis soup is popular there and then I go see a real doctor.
I do have to mention that Iāve met several nut job āreal doctorsā. Having a degree and license is no guarantee!
I have never met a doctor who is sane enough to know what he is doing LOL. My motto is to do your own research, and not rely on the judgment of doctors.
@Jonathan2 Thatās not cool he told you to quit meds. Shameful. Iām sure if I would have been on meds at the time, the guy I saw probs would have said the same. And yes, the guy I saw also gave me drops of some tincture or whatever. Not a good situation.
@dreamer54 It is hard when itās family pushing ācuresā and ātreatmentsāā¦ Like how does one say hell naw without being rude, you know?
Honestly, my mom took me to various alternative healers. One nutter after another.
We even went to different countries for them.
Now she has given up. Way better.
Edit: Naturopaths, homeopaths, faith healers, psychics,ā¦
Iāve seen it all.
Problem is that you cannot rely on them when you feel bad or depressed, cuz they will try to brainwash youā¦
The psychic told my mom that she needed to get a car for me. That I didnāt need to pursue studies and that I needed to negociate contracts as a job. Lol
Iām just rude so the person will go away, like with my wifeās fave cousin:
āNo I am not doing that. Youāre batshxxx crazy and I wish you would stop visiting us because youāre wasting parts of my life I will never get back. No one sane wants to visit with you.ā
She never comes to our home now, so, success.
Next time I see an in law meme Iāll tag you
It is a verrrrry interesting subsection of people who are āalternative healers.ā
I went to a āshamanā onceā this person was an actual clinical psychologist who had spent some time in some remote jungle back in the 1970sā¦
The whole experience just made everything sooo much worse for about a weekā not to mention they charged $300 for like, an hour and a halfās worth of nothing.
Sameā I am glad youāre doing way better on your med regimen
I donāt know about Schizoaffective as I have not tried homeopathy in this context.
I used to have a lot of nasal congestion, which was wiped out by homeopathy. Actually, what happened was incidental. I was 7-8 years then, and the pills were sugary and not working. But, they were sweet, so as a kid I started binging on them. And, in a few days, a persistent problem was wiped out for good. The key was to substantially increase the dose in my instance, which I did without realizing it (if you know, homeopathy holds that ālike cures likeā but in very low doses). Some people swear by it, and some doctors who practice homeopathy/allopathy still swear by homeopathy, especially in places where conventional medicine doesnāt have proper treatments.
The logic behind homeopathy is that, if you have too much dopamine in the brain, the solution is to increase the dopamine in small amounts, not decrease it in as in conventional medicine. So, if you increase the dopamine, the body will learn to decrease it naturally. The body will adjust, and believe it or not, a lot of people swear by homeopathic treatments because they work for them. Because there are no patents, and no real money involved, scientists call homeopathy a placebo effect.
Now I have tried at least 10-11 conventional medicines that donāt work for me, so it could be that, in the same manner homeopathy didnāt work for you. Some things donāt just work for some people, but realize that, also, some things work like magic for some people without any side effects.
My clinical psychologist was a shamanic teacher as well.
Saw him every couple of weeks for a year. He only charged ā¬60 a session though.
Yea, it sucks having to kinda put up those defensive boundaries and not be able to turn to them for adviceā but I think itās better for oneās mental health in the long run.
@Schztuna @Jonathan2 too much Freud make em go nuts themselves lmao
Yes, Ashwaganda I have tried, but doesenāt work for me personally, but have better experience with Bacopa monieri, which is a similar herb.
