I used to have serious road rage and i knew I had to control it.
My kids think what I do now is funny but aren’t sold on it.
When someone is a s$$$head i say “peace love joy. Have a nice day”.
Sometimes I have to say it thru grinding teeth but other times it works well

Oh, I just go off on them, saying all kinds of explicit stuff, most of it not fit to mention on the forum lol. I do a lot of driving, so I’m exposed to a lot of crummy drivers.

Did you at least use your indicator lights/turn signals? That’s a pet peeve of mine, drivers who don’t use them.

Oh definitely. I put my blinkers on way before I have to turn or even when changing lanes I put my blinker on

I listen to calming music. I had to give up my road rage when I flipped a guy off for cutting me off, and his response was to let me get ahead of him, then tailgate me for thirty miles while beeping intermittently at me. I was traveling alone, and I was terrified he was going to kill me. I tried speeding up, slowing down, and he just stayed right on my bumper. Finally, we passed the exit for the police station and I pulled into their parking lot. He did not follow me.

The only thing I get angry about is cyclists.
They cycle on roads that have a speed limit of 70 MPH with trucks and other cars speeding around all over the place. They cause the slow lane to panic and swerve out the way.
Also, on tight country roads, you come round the corner doing 60 MPH and they appear suddenly and you have to slam the brakes on.
These people are stupid. My mother says I shouldn’t swear so I just shout ‘nut case’ out the window when I drive past, as what they’re doing is dangerous for them and the road users.

I’ve had that happen a few times. Mostly, and each time in my case, bullies are cowards and like to try to scare others but I don’t scare easily… It’s smart to be careful though.

I was a scary driver too. I cut people off, tail gated, didn’t use my blinkers and generally sped around town all the time. I can easily say I was the worst driver on the road. I don’t drive anymore. At all.

My sister has permanent road rage. She just knows everyone is out to kill her every time she gets in her car. She freaks out if someone goes in her lane like a mile in front of her. She cusses and gestures and totally goes into this whole other personality. It’s odd and I don’t like driving with her. And I’m the “crazy” one.
