My pup is in pain

My puppy had neutering cryptoorchadism surgery yesterday and although the surgery went well, my puppy is in a lot of pain today
I also placed a cone on him today but he still manages to mess with his surgical incisions by scratching at it using his hind legs
I order a surgical bodysuit for him to wear, it’s arriving tomorrow
I’ll be monitoring him overnight
Poor thing… this breaks my heart

didn’t they give you pain meds?? he’s supposed to be on post surgery pain meds…you have to request them.

Yes he’s on pain meds but he’s still in pain

oh thank goodness…yes, pain meds are really the only way to go on surgeries like that…that’s great…sorry…I panicked.

The body suit is not working out
It’s a real pain in the neck to unfasten it so he can relieve himself.
He’s struggling and squirming and that’s just putting more pressure on the incisions.
I think I’m just going to monitor him more often
The good news is that he rarely tries to scratch the incisions.
One of the incisions is still raw but the surgery was just two days ago
I hope that’s normal.
There’s some blood but it’s not oozing pus

if u do a diaper take it off for him to go to the bathroom or else the wound will get infected. the diaper could work for protecting the wound but just make sure he goes to the bathroom without it
