My Pdoc appiontement was a nightmare

They said if you have bipolar 1 with psychotic feature you might be able to get off antipsychotic if your stable enough on anticonvulsants depending how strong your manic states are or you have antipsychotic prn on hand when you need it.

Edit: Some need to be on AP long term.

I would not have take anything said on Reddit seriously

I wouldn’t either but my Pdoc said it was possible due the Anticonvulsants being able treat mania which powers the psychosis of some bipolar people.

Bipolar is like Schizophrenia everyone get effect by it different, Some people get mania very fast or have mania episodes every couple of years.

Edit: Half of the bipolar 1 people don’t have psychotic features.

You can try a new psychiatrist.

I hear you. You can always book a new pdoc for an appointment and talk to your current pdoc while you wait.

What the fk?:joy: So you’ll be bipolar if you get a girlfriend? And what happens if you break up with her later on? You’ll be schizophrenic again?

Your Pdoc doctor maybe layman just like us… Once in India there was a period where there were lot of unapproved or illegal doctors who wanted to earn good money by providing the service to people with what they know. But that turned out to be futile and now order restored somewhat. Maybe they still exist. This doctor reminding me of that.
