My nurse just told me that she thinks I am very intelligent

I don’t know about this. I think I am of average intelligence. I take online I.Q. tests and they all show I am of average intelligence. But my nurse tells me not to believe them. She says she thinks I am highly intelligent because when I was diagnosed by my pdoc with mild cognitive impairment I didn’t just accept it. I did something about it. I started eating better, and exercising every day, and playing my piano everyday, and studying Spanish, and meditating every day, twice a day. She told me that the average person would not do all of that. She said that the average person would just say, “Oh well”, and accept their situation. This gives me something to think about.

You are very intelligent @SkinnyMe.

My pdoc thinks that I’m smart too.
Like you she said it’s because I managed to lose a lot of weight in the past.

Good for you Gina. Especially the positive lifestyle changes. I should really find more things like that to do. I tried to learn Japanese through cheap audio courses.

It sounds like you’ve accomplished a lot Gina. Your nurse is right. You ought to be proud of yourself.

We are all very intelligent and lucky compared to many of the people they use to deal with everyday.

I think you are talented and very smart @SkinnyMe. It must be nice to hear it from your nurse also. You seem to be doing very well, which is nice to hear.
I think everyone I’ve read posts from are quite intelligent and articulate. I think there’s a tendency for all of us to feel a little self-doubt at times.
One of the things I’ve noticed, schizophrenia and related disorders tends to lead us all towards showing a little more insight into our own thoughts and behavior than a lot of people who don’t have any reason to question themselves. In it’s own way, it gives us a little edge on so-called normal people.
