I bought myself a Cannondale electric bike (e-bike) for my birthday! It cost $1700 with the pannier rack added. I outfitted it with some used saddlebags and put a basket on the front…it weighs a ton and I’m having to learn how to handle a heavier bike with bigger wheels. I tried the electric assist for the first time today and it responds really well. Tomorrow (if it’s not raining) I plan to do my errands on it instead of taking the car.
It’s not the fanciest model out there and is definitely an intro-level bike…but it’s really mine! I hope to save money on gas and get a little more exercise with it, and I made sure to buy insurance on it in case it gets stolen or wrecked. It has both pedal assist and a thumb throttle, so if I get lazy I can ride it like a slow scooter (it’s max is 20mph, plenty fast).
I just hope I don’t wreck it!
Nice! I have not gotten my ebike out as much as I should lately. My does not have pedals but it can go 50mph.

I would want one but I don’t think I can balance myself with my dogs as a transportation vehicle.
I would like a tricycle or quadcycle with a basket for my dogs.

It’s rather heavy, even for a Cannondale. I had a Cannondale bike back in the 1990s but it was a road bike and much lighter.

Wow. I would love one of those. One my neighbours down the road has one and he uses it regularly.
I took it for the first long ride today to my dental appointment…I can’t believe how fast and easy the ride was! It was a little cold (it was 40F this morning) and I need to adjust the seat a bit (plus wear bike shorts…I never realized that losing weight would make my tailbone hurt). Still, it was a lot of fun. I hope you get your new wheel soon!
