I added spices, Indian style (cumin, coriander, cayenne, and a dash of red curry powder. Put this into a pan with a little bit of butter and some olive oil and when these mushy lentils were done (overcooked?), I poured the spice mix in.
Don’t they look funny? I don’t think lentils are supposed to look like this, lol, they’re all mushy.
Oh well, they taste delicious and a little spicy!

I use one cup of brown lentil + one small grated onion + half a teaspoon cumin + salt + a tablespoon olive oil + 3 tbs white rice. After boiling it for 40 minutes in 2-3 cups water, I make it into a purée or some people fry the onion and just add it on top. We eat a sort of coleslaw salad with this. coleslaw with mint, salt, lemon, vinegar: coleslaw a l’ancienne

I make the exact recipe with one more cup of water but use orange lentils and whole tiny onions to make it into a soup
