My husband is injured

Oh man that’s terrible. Illegal to sue your employer? Yet one more reason not to live in Texas I guess.

He needs access to pain medication. My mother is on forty mg oxycontin twice a day for an incurable bladder disease and without it she’s bedridden. People hating on pain killers have never had chronic lifelong pain, so screw their opinion.

Approach a lawyer in your new state and see what they say…that is just so wrong !!

Seeing as how it’s Texas I’m not really surprised.

I talked to my mom about this situation. She said contact OSHA, then contact a lawyer and tell them that you’ve contacted OSHA. A lawyer will be more likely to take your case then.

edit: Worker’s comp is required in Texas. If they don’t have worker’s comp, they’re violating the law and you can sue the company for that. Contact OSHA, tell the lawyer that you contacted them and that the company doesn’t have worker’s comp and they are more likely to take your case.

I am sorry this happened to your husband. It’s bad enough that he was injured but then to have his friends turn their backs on him is inexcusable. I don’t have any advice really but I wish you the best.

I am so sorry! I can’t believe his friends left him. He must be devastated, lonely, and heartbroken. I will pray for him tonight. And I am sorry about his back! That is life-changing!

Damn, that sucks. I’m sorry. Maybe you can still sue the company for not having worker’s comp. Is there a statute of limitations on thet too?

I don’t know @Sardonic

I think my mom was wrong. I did some reading. Texas employers aren’t required to have workers comp, but they may be responsible for the injury.
