My friend said this to me

What do you think. Was he being rude or am I just being too sensitive and complaining?

I brought up an issue with him and confided in him I experienced self esteem loss due to his decisions. And he told me this.

I disagree with it. If you experienced self-esteem loss due to this, I’m sorry, but maybe you should take it as learning experiences rather than personal attacks. People are letting you know that what you told them wasn’t okay. Listen to them, instead of complaining about it.

What do you think. I am just being transparent and trying to reality check the situation.

Totally depends on person.

Some people I trust implicitly. Those people say something I listen.

Some people I don’t respect their opinion. Their opinion isn’t worth anything to me.

How is this person to you? Friendship is worth maintaining as long as your not losing in it! Then it’s time to get new friends if you are!

@ablue, There’s that, and then there’s my best friend of fifteen years, who ended our friendship by telling me that she thought I was “ugly, fat, stupid, and uncreative”. This diatribe was totally unprovoked. We had been having a normal, friendly phone conversation when she suddenly came out with all of this. I was shocked out of my mind. I thought to myself, so that’s what she REALLY thinks of me. I think I hung up on her. She moved far away shortly after that. And she told me all of this the very month that my son died. And she was a trained pharmacist with oodles of brains graduating from a very prestigious university, summa cum laude.

College degrees don’t guarantee a person is smart.

It depends on the situation, I guess the are times that you have to listen to a real friend. My best friend s also straight to the point, I usually take their opinions as a good criticism.
