ya that wire will never have current, i think it was installed for a space heater. it live voltage tho
oh ok. I thought you had said you were putting a recepticle there so it might be used. IDK.
i thought that metal box was a recepticle and a box was a box
i thought that was stay puft marshmellow men
Haha.
At this point, I am begining to think maybe you should hire an electrician
.
I would probably myself, if the cable is not going to be used, shut off power(make sure its off with a volt pen or meter), staple it in the ceiling(it looks like you have an open ceiling in pic) and end it in a box. Maybe even cutting the cable short, stripping ends and capping off once power is off and just putting the end in a box.
Then put a blank plate on the box.
This would solve the exposed cable on a wall issue.
But, honestly, maybe you are better off not messing with it. ![]()
Edit: I don’t want to say anything that might cause you to get injured trying to mess with it.
I also just realized something else. You’re Canadian aren’t you? If you are…I have no idea about anything electrical in your country…particularly codes.
Edit : Everything i said was assuming USA
canadian codes would not accept what I have done
I basically did all of what you said earlier today except putting it in the ceiling and clamping it. i’ll likely do that later.
anyway let me show you some more electrical masterwork in the house i didnt do
heres the powerlines
