That he might have lung cancer but he refuses to seek any medical treatment even just to know. He knows he has COPD and doesnt do anything about it. In fact he still chain smokes like crazy. He had two in the ten min drive to the vet to pick up dixies meds. I told him im really worried about him and he is too but he still refuses to take care of himself so gheres jothing more that i can do…

My dad smoked cigs all the way up til he died. I could tell him hey stop smoking. But he didn’t listen so. He passed away in 2021 of a heart attack. I hope your dad stops smoking.

I want to somehow bring comfort… What angers me the most is when people know there’s a real problem but don’t want to deal with it—especially when we’re talking about cancer.
I want to hug you and reassure you. His attitude toward it could change at any moment. Stay strong.

My father in law started smoking when he was 10. He also had COPD. He lived to be 89. He had cancer left untreated for many years and still lived that long.
He also had open heart surgery in his 40s and again in his 50s I believe. I know it was twice.
What killed him was falling and shattering his hip. You never know. He might live longer than expected
That said, I really hope he’s around much longer and that you get lots of quality time with him
