The first night I had my cpap I wore it about 3 hours before I gave it up for a better nights sleep.
THe last 2 nights I have been wearing it for about a half hour and if I cant fall asleep by then, I take it off.
I really do want to get to the point where I am used to it and can sleep better, but I’m not sure if I’m ever going to get there trying it 30 minutes a night.
it reminds me of when i had to start wearing a mouth gaurd. its weird at first now i dont even notice it. i hope u can get used to it cause sleep apnea is bad for ur heart and sleep and everything.
Try wearing the mask for a couple of hours a day when your not sleeping so you get used to the feeling of having it on. I like to concentrate on my breath while listening to the machine, if you try to relax you will fall asleep, maybe for a couple of hours at first but as you get used to the mask the hours will increase.
Mild sleep apnea is prolly not causing your insomnia. Ive had the wakeups before too, and was part of the reason I went off meds. Invega eventually messed up my sleep. My current ap rexulti has resolved my insomnia.
I have a CPAP and it’s still in the box it shipped in because I’m afraid to try it. I have some lower back and neck issues so I have to sleep on my side
I’m not sure I can ever get used to a facemask strapped to my head. I may have to request one of those nose pillow attachments that are an option if a nose/mouth mask doesnt work for me.
