I dont deserve this kindness, because im the one that got myself into this bad of a financial situation.
But a lot of stress just got off my soul. I talked to my older brother, who lives on the other side of Canada, and he told me hes going to FULLY pay off my credit card AND my student loan.
Im not going to say how much I owe, but its a lot. I really fuucked myself over with poor financial decisions.
My older brother does very well for himself financially. He bought a good sized house in his early 30’s. Which is hard to do in British Columbia, Canada. He has a really good job. I still feel bad and guilty that hes doing this for me, but he’s still going to be very financially comfortable even after helping me.
We both agreed that Im going to pay him back, slowly, over time. He knows im applying for disability and cant work. Hes a normie, doesnt suffer from mental illness.
Still, id rather owe money to my brother than the bank.
After you pay off the balance on the credit card, close the card:
[To close a credit card, first, pay off any outstanding balance, then redeem all accumulated rewards, and finally, contact the credit card issuer by phone to request the account closure. It is recommended to confirm the closure in writing and update any automatic payments to a new card before cutting up the physical card and monitoring your credit report for accuracy.]–AI Overview
Yesterday I spoke with a financial company and my debt has been written off. I am £400 a month better off now as of next month. I am so relieved. My credit will be ruined for the next 5 years but I had to do it. I need to desperately start saving and being responsible
I also made poor financial decisions (my ex did not help….i had 6k in savings before I met him)
It sounds like your brother really loves and is looking out for you. Don’t feel like a burden. A lot of us would work if we didn’t have these crappy symptoms. Take care, @TheCanuk .
