My brain is f****ng fried

I genuinely considered just driving into one of those behavioral health centers and begging them to help me. Oh my god. I was up all night again. Bad anxiety. Feeling like I was 5 years old again. Voices screaming at me how I’m a brat and I’m useless. Tripping balls hallucinating. Feeling like I’m at war right now. Still having nightmares. I am extremely irritable and aggressive.

I NEEDED my appointment last week to go back on meds right after I quit. But I just HAD to get pulled over and told I couldn’t drive because my vehicle registration was expired. Unbelievable. Now I’m having a complete meltdown.

Do you/can you try to sleep during the day?

Are you on an Antipsychotic?
Sounds like you need to be one one @Anna.

I’m so sorry you’re going through this, @Anna. One step at a time, you’ll get back on track. You need sleep. What can you do to get some sleep? Do you have a support system/people who can drive you to where you need to go?
Make a priority list and you will make progress towards balance. You’re going to be ok.

Yes that’s what I’ve been trying to do but for some reason it’s just not restful.

@Wave I’m trying to get back on one but I had to miss the appt with my prescriber last week because of the being pulled over thing (I was only 5 miles away from it…ugh if he’d just let me go and then go back home…)

@Hedgehog I told my mom I’ve been having problems so she wouldn’t complain if I was sleeping in really late and would let me do so since I am certain all of my issues right now are stemming from the sleep deprivation. I don’t know what to do at this point aside from downing some over the counter sleep aid, though those don’t typically work so well for me.

Have you tried melatonin for sleep? i used to do that with a chamomile tea and that worked a little for me.

Yes it did not work. I’ve also tried tea which did not work. I’ve tried pretty much everything in the book. Even when prescribed things for sleep I’d gain tolerance very quickly.

L theanine?

Serax?

I’ve tried benzos. Work wonderfully. Gain tolerance very quickly. I didn’t know l-theanine was for sleep I thought it was for negative symptoms. But given that nothing over the counter has worked well for me before I doubt it will…

Yes l theanine helps sleep. Rather than knocking you out it seems to promote restful sleep. @everhopeful this is one of your staples isn’t it?

My doc likes serax because he says it’s one of the safest benzos.

@anna Sounds like you really need your meds. Can you get a prescription called in or an emergency appt? I really feel for you, wish I could tell your voices to be nice or atleast quiet

L-theanine is kind of the icing on the cake once you’ve got your meds sorted. Anna desperately needs to sort her meds out first.

I agree, but, she’s also got to get some sleep while she’s waiting for an appointment.

I have gone to ER after not sleeping for 4 days.

This guy has some good dietary and supplement tips. Amber glasses at night are also good.

You mentioned not eating, a bowl of oatmeal, some cottage cheese and some almonds is a good pre-bed meal.

I take l-theanine and lemon balm for sleep but I am also on meds. Maybe choline could help you as well, it lower’s dopamine and helps cognitive symptoms.
