Multi-vitamins?

I’m going to get a multi-vitamin. Every time I go to pick one out I get really overwhelmed by all the brands and the selection. Does anyone know a trusted brand that actually works and delivers the vitamins the way they say they do? Or are all brands basically the same?

Nature-made is my favorite vitamin brand. I get the gummies, because the swallowable ones leave a nasty taste in my mouth.

Discount vitamins sometimes make me nauseous/headachey. I don’t trust them.

@Ninjastar do you take a multi gummy? Does it help you? Do you add anything to it like extra b vitamins or d3 or calcium?

I take a multivitamin with omega 3 fatty acids. I used to also take a calcium chew, but I fell out of the habit. My most recent blood panel said all my levels were good, and my cholesterol was low. So either the vitamins are working, or I am just naturally healthy and they make zero difference. I think they’re working, though.

Here’s one that might suit you. It has more or less 100%rda of vitamins and minerals. Most multivitamins contain “special ingredients” like megadoses or gingko(gingko can be dangerous).

This one is a simple multi vitamin/mineral.

It’s 45 days worth, because you’re supposed to take two a day. And it costs $14-16 depending on the store. Sometimes, the multi+omega for him/her bottles are cheaper. They’re all the same product, so we always just get whichever one is on sale. The swallowable pills are much cheaper, if you don’t mind them. I found that they were so gross, I would just skip taking them until they expired.

Yeah, those are nice. I can’t take them, though, because I have thalassemia. Iron supplements can kill me.

Multi vitamins have been proven in research studies to lead to shorter life spans. Or at least, do no good for their consumers. I read that in Prevention Magazine. Nonetheless, I take them everyday because I don’t eat fruit.
