Facebook recently announced in its Q2 2017 earnings call that messaging app WhatsApp now boasts 1 billion users every day. WhatsApp Status, its cloned Snapchat Stories feature, also reached 250 million daily users. What’s more, these WhatsApp users are currently sending 55 billion messages and 4.5 billion photos per day.
More popular overseas than it is in the US, WhatsApp currently supports 60 languages and has rapidly expanded its global user base by being easy to use, free, and sporting features lacking in traditional SMS. It surpassed the 1-billion-monthly-user mark in February 2016.
I had WhatsApp before the illness. But I haven’t used it in more than 3 years. I don’t know if the account is still valid…
Is it free for unlimited use now? In the beginning they would charge something after a free first year.
I have it, I use it to call my family, much more convenient than Skype with wireless connection. But like my sister only uses Whats app since it is cheaper than actual cellphone call. I think she pays 2 bucks a month to have WhatsApp function.
I use both WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger. The advantage of WhatsApp is users do not need to send friend request to exchange messages, as long as the phone number is in the contact list.
China has WeChat and QQ but I don’t like them, especially the Unfriend and Blacklist features.
I don’t need it. I use messenger, and unlimited domestic phone calls and texts are included in my subscription (which is the cheapest subscription available in my country).
There’s a new ransomware virus that mimics WhatsApp completely,it steals your info and sells it back to you or else it dumps all your private info online for free for anyone to steal,I’d steer clear of it all together just to be safe.
