Yes but I quite like keeping up with diffeerent tech whatsapp is owned by facebook and I want something just me and partner can use…
There’s also viber but that’s not that common

I just reinstalled What’sapp on my phone.
I hardly use it though.

I video chat with a friend on Whatsapp but lately video is stuttering. Skype and Duo have better image quality without stuttering. Messenger has the worst image quality. I just use it to chat to 2-3 friends.
my mum, dad and siblings use whatsapp. I never used it… i use steam to talk to my best friendy.

i dont know how well telegram is encrypted, but the app and desktop application both have customizable colors for your layout. i believe it requires a phone number, but you can hide it from showing on your profile and have a username instead.
Most people in my country have whatsapp so I have it too.
