Got prescribed this.
Drug profile - it has a short half life, its a reversible MAO antidepressant. In the UK it can actually be used for depression and social anxiety (which I think is quite rare to have something specifically for social anxiety).
Taken it for a couple of days, not sure if placebo but seems to be working for social anxiety. I was alot more confident in the local shop taking my time when I would usually rush and I feel slightly in a better mood.
I get the impression its not as commonly prescribed but not sure why.
Anyone ever taken it?
Mao’s are older technology so the ssri’s and others are more common. People still do well on them though and I was on one for a while as they tended to have better side effect profiles for things like sexual function. They still have their place in treatment.

Yes, Prozac had a big affect on me in that department shall we say…
Bcus its pricey and quite weak.
Nope - but i’m on Marplan, (isocarboxide) another MAO-i. The oldest AD.
It worked like a wonder for two years before the effect decreased. I have tried to stop taking it, but feel even worse when stopping it, even the effect is minimal now.
Hope it works for you a longer time, for most people it does.
