Beating myself up, missed my exam in school this am. Been having a lot of difficulty sleeping and than getting up late despite multiple alarm clocks… Forgot about the exam while laying in bed and didn’t realize until 4 hours after exam end… Feel like a failure… Didn’t want to email the professor, but my friend talked me through it and made me realize i may have been somewhat paranoid or exasperating his possible response. I’ve been struggling so much lately.

My memory is bad. I even forgot to buy one of my meds and I had withdrawal symptoms for a week. How are you now?
Don’t beat yourself up. Sometimes these things happen especially if you’re having a hard time. Give yourself a break.
it’s good you and your friend got you to communicate with the professor.
extension or make ups are usually an option. some professors aren’t bad and work with you.

I’d give the Professor some more time. Even up to 2-3 days to respond.
I walked into a final exam once halfway through. The prof. asked how she would know i wasn’t in the bathroom getting the questions from students as they came out of the exam. I mumbled something about how my crummy grade would prove her wrong and I went to leave the auditorium. She called after and let me sit for it. I think I got a C.

Hey the same has happened to me. I was lucky in that my professor was kind enough to reach out and be like “hey you were the only one to miss the final…what’s up” and I explained the situation and he let me come in and take it with no penalty. I was so grateful I brought him a gift and a card too.
Professors can be very understanding. I’m sure you will be ok if you explain yourself.

You need to be upfront with your professor, about having personal issues whether outright telling your professors about your schizophrenia like I did, or just say you have severe problems going on in your life and potentially detailing how they can affect your lifestyle. I hope you get to take the exam. Good Luck!
