Min-101, why is it supposed to work?

I’m ok with word puzzles but as for constructional/strategic puzzles-forget it. I can’t even do simple jigsaws most children above a fairly young age could do in their sleep.

I do empathise as someone who has a degree of problems in some cognitive areas but posting here marks as more than “adult babies”.

I know you have suffered a huge loss of functioning/personality and the things that made you you Erez. Everyone who really understands this illness realize just how devastating it is.

There are probably ways in which you are better off than me, for example I suffer from severe verbal fluency deficits. While I still have some amount of my cognitive functioning there are aspects which have never came back. I would consider myself the lucky of the unlucky. We do not all have the same level of disability, but we are all less functional than normal healthy people.

I am not sure about more motivation but certainly cognitive difficulties, although they may still be present, will be less prominent. I am aware that even a mild to moderate degree of cognitive dysfunction can adversely affect day to day functioning.
That’s why if I had ever worked it would have had to be at a job not highly reliant on manual/practical or executive functioning abilities ie something fairly low grade.

Very well, this appears like a realistic estimate" lucky among the unlucky" or among schizophrenics.
I consider myself so so, there are people who are better off and there are adult babies, I wouldn’t consider
myself lucky even among schizophrenics, I am grateful for being able to post here, there are people who are less lucky
who are like adult babies, on the other hand there are people with less impairment than me
who are higher functioning.
You are also right that the lion’s share of schizophrenics suffer at least some impairment,
even the lucky ones.
It is good that you have the decency to acknowledge that there are people worse off than you.

That is very true. Unfortunately though if we are seen as fairly bright it can be difficult to get acknowledgement of any such difficulties and hence help and support.
If your pdocs have seen you as highly/very intelligent (as mine do) what chance they’ll see/acknowledge you have such difficulties?

As with negative symptoms it’s a woefully neglected area.

Your issues seem to lie with fluid intelligence, so the types of things which would be measured on a cognitive assessment. If you could just find a job which doesn’t require you to be very quick witted and which doesn’t require any visuospatial abilities you could be consistently employed. Law seems to require good verbal intelligence.

Most pdocs tend to acknowledge that those with schizo tend to be a little bit slower. Or a lot slower. Some care more than others and will have you take cognitive assessments, but that is a domain of symptoms which is just coming into focus now. Until now they knew very little about it, just that we are dumb, at least most of us are,

I struggle with mood, socialization (even leaving the house is difficult), sleep, hygiene, etc.

I’m hoping Min-101 will help with those symptoms.

Mood- better since being on Consta. Socialisation -poor. Can physically leave the house but desire/motivation to do so is low. Sleep -erratic in terms of when I go to sleep. Hygiene - not good-combination of forgetfulness, motivation and irrationality.

These are the things it’s difficult for professionals to pick up on if they are only seeing you briefly at a clinic for your depot.
Was asked last depot time if I wanted to do groups I said there wasn’t much I was interested in. Was also asked if I went out to which I indicated I tend to stay indoors.

The jocular response from one nurse to another “Oh, that’s Tim”.

This is just speculation, but I wonder if pharmaceutical companies have investigated anti-anhedonia pharmaceuticals that demonstrated efficacy in preclinical testing, but they did not translate into clinical trials, because such drugs would inevitably cause pleasure (which may be addictive), due to the enactment of anti-drug legislation.

Hope min101 turns out to be good and not a hype fad.

First of all greet the members of the forum. I’m new here, and I have schizoaffective disorder.
I was also seduced by the idea of finding a drug that reduces cognitive symptoms. I know that everyone has them in a different measure. However I am unable to feel relieved because others are worse than me. I can only compare myself to what it was like before I got sick.

We all know that phase 3 is too early to know the reliability of the drug. But there is nothing wrong with hoping. I pray that we all benefit from it.

My apologies for my English. It’s not my native language.
