If it won’t stress you out, @everhopeful, what kind of meditation were you practicing and how much meditation were you practicing?
Well, it was actually self hypnosis. I bought a book on self hypnosis and recorded the scripts on cassette tape and played them back and went into pretty deep trances.
What kind of meditation do you do?
I do formless meditation, mindfulness meditation, body scans, and focus meditations.
I found it I eat without the TV on I can taste the food better. Kind of like eating meditation. I also do walking meditation but breathing meditation doesn’t work on me.
I tried it today. Havent done it in probably a year or more. It help calm down my anxiety which is coming back now 2 hrs later so i’ll do it again
I also think it didnt help me on the mental health front. But to be fair i was meditating for hours on end multiple times a day haha.
That sounds healthy.
After a year or so of doing it started feeling mechanical. Seemed like I was just going through motions. Then came tightness in chest and back. So stopped.
Initially it helped decrease anxiety and nervous excitement. But this didn’t last. Anxiety returned soon. I was doing guided mindfulness meditation.
