Med Switch

I’m lined up to see herr doktor and discuss a switch from clozapine to an injectable, either vrylar or Abilify. My aim is to find a less sedating medication, hopefully free of side effects. Bit of a crap shoot.

Anyone have any med switch stories, good or bad?

I’m also on clozapine and wanted to sleep all the time. They added Vraylar to it and my sleep went way down, like from 12 hours a day to 7.

I also do 12. M’on 600mg. Monthly bloodwork. Treat constipation w senna tea. Tachycardia might be clozapine-related. Sedated but stable.

Did they give you a cross titration?

Im on haldol now, before that i was on clozapine. The switch is so much better for me.

I thought clozapine was the end of the line, for the “treatment resistant”, now I got a chance to win back some dopamine I think I’m gonna take it.

Yeah, I have the tachycardia, too…went from about 55 bpm to about 95 bpm average. I also use milk of magnesia once a week to help with the constipation. :poop:. Clozapine helps me the most with suicidal ideation, then secondarily with the psychosis. When they added the Vraylar they did titrate it up, starting at 1.5 mg (Now on 4.5). It’s working so far…

I switched from Zyprexa to Invega depot. This works for me.

Interesting they didn’t administer a full switch. These poly pharmacy regimens are basically ■■■■■■ medical experiments…*strong text
