Ok so I waited 2 hours at the morning walk in to see my psychiatrist. He seemed to care and be considerate. He said that Im not ADHD and I have Bipolar, then he put me on Effexor75mgs one daily, and ativan daily or as needed and Ativan 1mg a day. So far I feel a lot better.

Wish my doctor would give me Ativan I could do with one right now. It’s very difficult to get benzodiazepines here in the UK.

It’s difficult everywhere. I go to a place in Martinsburg where there’s the biggest heroin epidemic in the country. So it really isn’t easy even if you need it.
So is that all the medication your on just exeffor and Ativan with no antipsychotic?
Yes he took me off Abilify because I told him it was ruining my motivation and making me worse.

Are you not on a mood stabiliser? An antidepressant without a mood stabiliser is not a good idea if you are bipolar.
i’m schizoaffective, my doctor put me on llithium and ativan to help with symptoms plus 4 others meds. I never have to try to get benzos. my doctors always just prescribe them.
I agree - I cannot tolerate antidepressants even with a mood stabilizer – my DX is bipolar
Finally getting somewhere it seems! That’s good news.
I’m also on buspar I don’t take Ativan anymore and the Effexor seems to have me calmer but i hope I’m not just being overly hopeful
