I hope it’s not colon cancer, but you do need to see a doctor to make sure, and it will reduce the stress of not knowing. If it is colon cancer, early detection leads to better outcomes.
you’re right, there is no way to be sure until its done. It’s very frustrating though, I originally had this GI appointment at an earlier date and then they called me and said the doctor “changed his schedule” and would be at his location in a nearby city. Then they moved the date back.
I would have thought your primary care dr would have ordered the colonscopy since it is standard to have a colonscopy if the stool test is positive. It’s odd that you have to see a GI dr first. Without a colonscopy, there’s not much the GI dr can tell you.
I honestly don’t know if they ordered it or not. I just know that I have to meet GI doctor Tuesday. Maybe they will set up the date and discuss what I have to do then.
She may have ordered it but this is the GI docs procedure for doing it. IDK.
Thanks. What really had me going was the frequent sulfur burps. It just seemed unlikely that I would get that positive test and then get the sulfur burps. But like I said, Ozempic can cause it. So, I’m less convinced now. I despise Ozempic. I want to get off it. It doesnt help me with weight loss or appetite control or blood sugar. All it does is give me occasional stomach problems and sulfur burps that make me think I have cancer.
I’m not super duper afraid of death. What I am afraid of is not knowing what the f is going on and waiting and pain and the process of death.
I’m glad you’re feeling better about it now. Hopefully they schedule your colonoscopy right away so you can rule out cancer and not have to worry anymore.
