Cologuard test results

I received my Cologuard test result this morning
It came out Positive
I guess that I’ll have no choice now but to get a colonoscopy performed soon.
I really hope that I don’t have Cancer

I’m getting a bit anxious about it

Woa.

Catching it early is important and it sounds like you’ve done that, if it’s cancer.

I’m looking after an elderly relative who had bowel cancer and they’re cancer free after an operation.

I wouldn’t worry too much until you’ve received the results of the colonoscopy though. That’s the definitive test.

Also, a colonoscopy can remove polyps , thereby preventing cancer.

Hey @Wave Try not to worry too much. Get the colonoscopy and see what it shows.

I had a positive stool test three years ago and then a colonoscopy which did not show anything concerning (no precancer or cancer).

On my colonoscopy they found 2 polyps, one benign and one precancerous. They just said i have to have another colonoscopy in 5 years instead of 10. It wasn’t as bad as i thought it would be, the prep was way by far the worst part, i kept “leaking” into my britches and had to keep changing clothes. But the colonoscopy itself was a breeze. You’ll do okay getting it done, it’s good you’re being proactive. It’s best to catch it early…

@Wave

I remember that from my elderly relative.

Be prepared to sit on a toilet all day, the day before the colonoscopy.

The drink that you have to take clears out your insides.
