i take my dogs to all my doctors visits. i wouldn’t go without them.
one time i was at a restaurant told them, they were required by law to let me in. they said no pets, my spouse and i just walked out.
one time on a plane flight, after walking past the flight attendants, she checked their harness and smiled and said so cute, and my spouse said after we went through the woman said, they are not service dogs, happens all the time, but what can you do.
I was so offended I was furious still am. Thankfully my dogs kept me from raging.
In my state, I believe restaurants can allow them but don’t have to. Do they have to allow them there?
Just curious.
it is federal law. not state law.
every business institution has to allow them.
its very clear and specific.
hmm…maybe Im out of date. Was this recent?
maybe I am misunderstanding iowa law on restaurants.
Never mind. I looked it up. I was mistaking a restaurant patio law with interior.
It was about pets, not service dogs.
I know they have to allow in like grocery and convenience stores and whatnot. I just got the pets and service dog rules confused for restaurants.
My bad there.
I have never seen one in a restaurant.
This is not a big problem for me cause I am not out often.
but these are just two times that businesses were ignorant.
I dont care enough to eat and educate the restaurant even though they could be liable if someone sued them for discrimination
