My parents and piano teacher were alike like that. You had have good manners but it was alright to be mean. So silly.

My piano teacher pounded my fingers when I made a mistake.
Yes. I’ve heard of that. Mine used to but by the time we were her students (my sister and I) she didn’t do that any more. She still made me cry.
My violin teacher used to whack me with the her bow when I played improperly. She was a good teacher though.
