I have so much stress from making music a lot the last couple days. Iā€™m so lazy about it too. Like I made an album 17 songs I had already written but itā€™s very sloppy I donā€™t feel like going back. I think my poetry is very strong. My music making skills are only okay. Iā€™m a poet first and foremost. I thinking to make a book titled "I donā€™t wanna be a rapper, I wanna be a poet: Confessions of the dual diagnosed"
Where I publish all my poem raps Iā€™ve written the past five years. (Well I threw some out which is a pity but still have a ton). Even if I have to self publish itā€™d be okay. I would pay to put it in book format if I have to. But I think itā€™s a good idea. I will still continue to make music. Maybe there will be volume 2,3,4. But this is my idea. Iā€™m pretty good at floetry for a 27 year old, my raps have always been very poetic, in touch, natural and revealing , etcā€¦ might get home later and start aligning my poems into one word document.

I do not listen to rap, at all. Except despacito so triggering for me.

I think I just need a break from it all. Iā€™m not ready at all for it. Last time I took an 8 month break, I came back and was 2x as good because of my recovery from mental illness. Itā€™s stressing me out. Maybe Iā€™ll be better in an amount of years. But I need a little break.

I saw an article not long ago, about a ted talk that said ā€˜do it badlyā€™.

Maybe you could keep creating privately and just accept some bad bits, and save the good bits for when you are feeling more creative? It would be a shame for you to crash out and stop completely, it seems to be good fun for you to create things.

Yes I agree. I think this sounds redundant but, I think my voice isnā€™t ā€œthereā€ yetā€¦maybe it will never be, but I shouldnā€™t give it up just cuz of that.

And some of the things I initially think are good arenā€™t that good. Thatā€™s why I said the other day ā€œmake 60 songs and take the best 15ā€ā€¦ Even if it takes 2 years to do it.

Also maybe I should change my beats up, instead of using old school beats I can use new school beats :slight_smile:
