Has anyone had a lump on the neck if so how did they diagnose you? I had an ultrasound today for a lump behind my left ear. I not really sure what it is but I don’t think its cancer. I had this lump going on 2 years so hopefully it’s nothing.

I get lumps behind my ear in my neck. The last one I noticed ended up going down. I thought lymph nodes but idk this seemed different. If you find out what it is let me know.

I had a friend who had a lump on his neck, it was a cyst and they had to cut it out, but it wasn’t cancerous or anything, just gross.

I have a lump on my neck but I don’t even mention it to my doctor because I don’t think anything will be done.
I have ovary pain on off for 2 months, I’m a pcos patient and they still might reject an ultrasound for that so I don’t think they’ll do anything about a lump on my neck. It’s probably not big enough, my neck lump.

I don’t understand how people can go about with lumps anywhere on their bodies and not get them checked out by a doctor? I don’t get it.

There are lymph nodes behind your ears. I have one that got very large. They removed it. I have scalp psoriasis so when it flares my lymph nodes get angry. They react to the infection. Doctor told me the ones that they get really concerned about are in your pits/groin or if several are swollen at once. I’m glad you are getting it checked though. Keep us posted.

On a serious note, I just feel they don’t care from my regular experience with them.
They have more pressing issues that need to be addressed
The health care system here is overburdened

If the lump is at the side near the back in the middlish area its a lymph node

I decided to wait on mine to not over react. If it was there for a while I’d maybe gotten it checked out. It went down pretty quick though.
I had a lump on my neck and had surgery and it turned out to be Hodgkin’s lymphoma. I had chemo and they cured me. I’ve been in remission for the last 6 years. I don’t mean to alarm you.

@Zoe In Hodgkins lymphoma, the lump is an enlarged lymph node on the neck. You should tell your doctor about your neck lump just in case. They are not too busy. That is their job.
