Do you see your doctor for your lump next Tuesday? Why make any big decisions right now? Why don’t you wait until you know more? It just might be very curable. Or, it could be nothing at all.

I hope everything goes well with your obgyn doctor’s appointment @Daze. Try not to worry too much.

Breast lumps are (unfortunately) quite common especially as you get older. I’ve had them three times and each time it turned out that it was a fluid-filled cyst. It is important to always follow-up with your obgyn doctor whenever you notice a lump in the breast. Even if it turns out to be cancer, breast cancer is very treatable these days.

I agree. I’ve had a breast lump twice and needed a biopsy for the one. But it turned out to be a cyst.

Try not to jump to conclusions before you can ascertain the probable cause of the lump. I think you have lots of life left in you. No sense in counting your cookies until they are in the batter.

I used to be a radiologist’s assistant. It’s almost never cancer. It happens but it’s not at all the norm. I don’t remember the percentage of biopsies that are negative or positive, but most of the time it’s benign and there’s no reason to worry. Don’t start to worry unless they tell you it’s cancer, because it’s usually not.
