Loxapine update 1

I started loxapine last night and took it again in the morning and just now. I’m not noticing any changes. But I’m on the lowest dose - 10mg at night and 10mg in the morning. I’m allowed to see my pdoc in 2 weeks she said if need be. On a good note, it has a side effect of lowering blood pressure, and mine has gone down 10 points. I’m happy about that. I went from averaging 167/115 to 158/100 so at least it’s going in the right direction.

That’s good to hear pianogal. I hope it’s not causing a huge appetite for you

GREAT your blood pressure is coming down! You really need that! Glad, too, there aren’t outrageous side effects right away! Hoping for the best!

Best of luck with it.

Just remember that it takes a good while for these meds to get in the body and work. You start off small for a couple weeks and gradually increase your dose til you find the correct therapeutic dose.
