Low motivation

I have really low motivation, I don’t care much about anything and is hard for me to do things.

I have trouble showering but I do brush my teeth.

Tough for me to cook, I hardly cook.

I don’t have any motivation to go out or do much at home. The only thing that I can motivate myself to do is pay my bills and making sure I’m ok financially.

Anyone like this? Anything you do to get you more motivated?

Yah I do stuff sometimes and it feels good. If I keep it up it helps my self image and I stay feeling good. I am always doing something and at least focused, but no great ambitions. Lol

Adding exercise really helped my negs. I started small. Try to walk everyday 30 minutes. These days I’m jogging 30 minutes a day and hitting 25,000 steps. It really can help with the negs but it’s hard to start. You have to will yourself to do something you don’t feel like doing…

I force myself to do things, honestly I think I could be happier if I were without the disease and still doing those things.I felt I was rewarded lesser then people without the illness

Force yourselves to do all the needed things and also force yourselves to stop doing all needless ones. Needless include day time sleeping, doing nothing, watching needless videos etc etc. Nothing comes automatically, we need to supervise our activities all the time.

I have the same problem. Can cook and read and do laundry and just manage shopping but can’t motivate myself to shower regularly or brush my teeth and can’t do housework properly. And can’t write or paint except in rare moments.

So what do I do? The only thing I can do is wait for a day when it comes back and until then get a lot of support from my husband. It’s so hard I know. Good luck with your situation!

The fact is you can do it but appear like can’t do it. So the only way to manage it is by forcing yourselves to do it.

I feel having a routine really helps.
If I know I have to cook dinner at 7, bursh my teeth when I get up, and shower in the mornings on mondays, wednesdays and fridays, it’s easier for me to get it done

Yes this is the best way to manage negative symptoms. Have a routine, schedule, good habit etc and follow them strictly.
