Yeah of course. Especially with the internet and instant communications. I agree with @anon51414962. You need some contact or it’s probably not a meaningful relationship but I married a girl once from a different continent. Lots of phone calls and stuff but it is doable these days!

I personally could not have a long-distance relationship.
If there was the promise of regular or frequent visits, I might be able to do it, but if it was all online I just can’t see the point.

I mean. The whole difference between a friendship and a relationship is that a relationship entails physical contact like kisses and hand holding and potentially even intimacy.

If you can’t have those things, you might as well be friends.

They can work in the same country I think, When you start having to cross borders it can become a problem, unless you have enough money to travel.

I see your point @Pikasaur

@Mountainman it’s in the same country something like 8 hours apart by road

My husband and I were long distance between Washington D.C. and Calgary for ten months before I moved up there ahead of the wedding. It’s hard to be apart so much but if you’re committed to frequent contact, it’s possible. We had five visits in ten months and were constantly on the phone or computer.

I think you eventually have the goal of being in the same place, or the relationship won’t grow. But until you get to know each other even better, enjoy yourself and plan that next visit!
