For me, it’s the following.
- Maynard James Keenan (vocalist for Tool, A Perfect Circle).
- Kurt Cobain
- Ray Charles
For me, it’s the following.
Jim Morrison
Jimi hendrix
Bob Marley
I’m a little bummed that I missed out on going to the A Perfect Circle concert in my area. Maynard is not the most dynamic live performer, I’ve videos and he just stands in one place and sings, but it would awesome to watch a genius at work. A Tool concert would be even better.
Kurt Cobain
Elvis Presley
Michael Jackson
Paul Waaktaar-Savoy (from A-ha)

I do like some musicians that everyone listed here, but think it’s too far stretched to call them geniuses.
Maybe even vulgar. Like trying to compare fine wine to a hot dog.
I like this thread… I need new music!
Ian Anderson. Jethro Tull. Amazing folk rock that was just so clever!
Frank Black. Anything by the Pixies in the early days was gold. Check out Surfer Rosa. Best album to get horny
too in my honest opinion!
Roger Waters of Pink Floyd. Every struggling male adolescent dream! The Wall still was a great comment on post war society!
Hmmm
If I had to pick three. That haven’t really been named yet.
Well first off
Tupac shakur—just such a poet. Lyrical genius. Great feel for rhythm in music. He was just simply the best rapper for as long as he was doing it so I gotta credit him here
Paul McCartney—I think the Beatles exemplifies genius for how they change musically over the years. And Paul was the best frontman they had. I give him the nod.
And last but not least
Mozart
